WARSOLDIER>
I exclusively paint in oils; I use the paint straight out of the tube. Something about oils that you can play with and go back into and change things, which is the neatness of them; they will .,,.last for many years

My paintings will be around long after we are gone.

The style I use is palette knife application, which is unique with respect to my contemporaries, I have experimented with sculpting knives; very rarely will I use a brush. It is the way that I do it, my technique.
I have been working on this technique for many years. I don’t plan it or use a formula, it’s personal. I use basically primary colors.

My oil paintings bring a brilliance of our suns rays, oranges, purples and yellows during sunrise or sunsets moments with our memories. The vibrant color comes from the inner part that we all have inside,I don’t try to plan it, it just comes out.

I am into painting for the creative part of it, to keep it around forever.

I paint wolves because of their wildness there is a wildness in all of us that’s why I do these wolves and wild mustangs too, we hve to redefine it and don’t be afraid of it cause that’s who we are as a people.

Connecting with the land, it’s being free as an Indian man out in the wild it’s just being who we are. We have struggled and fought this long to keep this wildness and freedom that we have. It’s who we are. I want to preserve their wildness. Wolves hunt the same way our people hunted. They wait patiently circling their prey like a prayer or a dance. Watching the herd move, waiting. Our people had songs, dances and societies to honor the wolf. I like to think that I’ve become part of the wolf and will be painting wolves for a while longer, until I decide to change.
